LIBRARY CARD
Library Cards:
All borrowers must have a valid library card to borrow library materials. Patrons must fill
out an application form to register for a library card. A library card will be issued upon
presentationof valid identification in form of a Driver's License or Michigan ID card from the
Office of the Secretary of State.
Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian give their signed consent on
application form before a card can be issued to them. By signing, the parent/guardian agrees
to be legally responsible for any accrued fines/fees assessed to the minor child.
A temporary three (3) month card will be issued to seasonal visitors who provide verifiable
local contact information.
All Library cards expire after three (3) years. At that time, contact information will be confirmed
and the card renewed for another three (3) year period.
Inter-Library Loans:
Inter-library loans are due on the date indicated by the lending library
Borrowing Limits:
Ten (10) items per card total
Patrons holding temporary cards may borrow three (3) items total.
Placing Holds:
A reservation may be placed on any circulating item. When the item becomes available
the patron will be notified by phone or email.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items:
All items may be renewed at the circulation desk, by phone. Renewals are acceptable
for all items not on reserve by another patron.
Library Fines & Fees:
Library Card Replacement Cost: $5.00
Overdue print material: .10 per item per library day
Overdue audio/video material: $1.00 per item per library day
Library privileges Blocked at: $3.00 in fees owed
Fax/Scan: $1.00 first page and $.50 each additional page to send or receive
Copies or Computer prints: .10 per page
Color pages: .65 per page
Laminating: $.60 per foot
Lost/Damaged item: replacement cost plus $5.00 processing feel
Default Replacement cost when actual is unknown: $20.00
